Receipt Actions
This page explains the main receipt actions and the workflow checks that control them.
Receipts are stock evidence. ParcelPilot allows editing and deletion only while doing so will not leave inventory, receiving, or audit records inconsistent.
Edit
Receipts are normally editable while they are still open or in an early receiving state.
Once the receipt is completed, cancelled, or otherwise locked by the workflow, normal editing is not available from the receipt page.
Delete
Delete is blocked after a receipt has posted inventory.
If stock has already been affected, deleting the receipt would orphan stock movements and make inventory history unreliable. Use a correcting inventory adjustment or the appropriate receiving correction workflow instead.
Complete Receiving and Post Receipt
Use Complete Receiving for controlled receipts that came from an Inventory Inbound receiving session.
Use Post Receipt for standalone or older receipt workflows.
These actions check the live receipt lines and receiving evidence before stock is created. Common blockers include no received quantity, missing locations for stock lines, missing serials for serialised items, variance review requirements, cancelled receipts, completed receipts, or controlled receiving session problems.
Ask AI Help can explain the current blocker from live receipt readiness. The action itself still reruns posting validation before stock is changed.
