Glossary
Use this guide when a ParcelPilot term is unfamiliar or when the same idea is known by a different warehouse or manufacturing name.
Terms
Additional Service
A billable warehouse activity recorded outside the normal pick, pack, and ship flow.
Additional Charge
The default rate configuration used when a warehouse activity such as Assembly or Repacking should create a billable charge.
Assembly
The warehouse activity that consumes component stock and creates finished stock for an assemble-to-stock item.
Assembly Components
The component list used to build one finished product. In manufacturing this is often called a Bill of Materials (BOM).
Available to Build
The number of finished units ParcelPilot calculates could be built now from the currently available component stock.
Buildability
The planning calculation behind Available to Build. It answers how many finished or bundle parent units the current component stock can support.
Bundle
A parent SKU that represents more than one component item. Depending on Product Type, the bundle may explode into picked items during fulfilment or be configured as an assemble-to-stock finished good.
Bill of Materials (BOM)
A manufacturing synonym for Assembly Components.
Component
A stocked item used inside Assembly Components or a bundle definition.
Configurable Bundle
A bundle where the final component choice is driven by the order, not by pre-built finished stock.
Controlled Receiving
The guided goods-in flow that starts from an Inventory Inbound, records receiving activity, and posts stock only when receiving is completed.
Finished Good / Finished SKU
The completed sellable item created by Assembly and later picked as its own stock item.
Finished Goods
Stock that already exists as completed sellable units and can be picked directly without first consuming more components.
Inventory Adjustment
A stock movement record showing why inventory changed, such as receipt posting, Assembly, Repacking, or a correction.
Inventory Assembly
The ParcelPilot record used to plan and complete an Assembly.
It can also hold an optional finished-stock receiving charging decision that is separate from the Assembly labour charge.
Units Per Case
The finished item case-pack value used to describe how many individual units fit in one full case or carton.
Inventory Assembly carton receiving uses the current value until final completion, then freezes the case-pack and billed carton evidence on the completed Assembly.
Inventory Inbound
The expected-delivery record used to plan an inbound before stock is posted.
Inventory Repacking
The ParcelPilot record used to convert one stocked SKU into a different stocked SKU.
Inventory Unit
The stock record that shows what quantity exists for an item in a specific warehouse and location.
Location
The physical storage position in a warehouse where stock is held, received, picked, or produced.
Kitting
An additional warehouse activity for combining items or materials into a prepared kit or pack format.
Pre-Receipt
An older receipt-planning record created before stock is physically received. It does not create stock by itself.
Receipt
The canonical goods-in document that posts stock into inventory when completed or posted.
Receiving Session
The controlled receiving pass linked to one Inventory Inbound and one controlled receipt.
Repacking
The warehouse activity that consumes one stocked SKU and produces a different stocked SKU.
Relabelling
An additional warehouse activity for changing labels or packaging markings without changing the core stocked item.
Recipe (legacy term)
Older help content or internal code may still use Recipe to describe Assembly Components or the component list used for bundle-style fulfilment behaviour.
Product Type
The item setting that tells ParcelPilot whether a SKU behaves as a standard product, an assemble-to-stock finished good, or a bundle-style parent.
Assemble to Stock
An item behaviour where the finished SKU holds its own inventory and component stock is consumed only when an Assembly is completed.
Explode on Fulfilment
An item behaviour where the parent SKU does not use pre-built finished stock and the order expands into child components during fulfilment.
Stocked SKU
A normal inventory item that can hold stock in warehouse locations.
Stock Status
The warehouse state that affects whether stock is sellable or should be blocked from normal fulfilment, such as available, quarantined, or discontinued.
Warehouse Activity
An operational action performed by the warehouse, such as receiving, Assembly, Repacking, storage, relabelling, or stock correction.
