Booking a Supplier Collection
Use Collections when ParcelPilot is arranging or tracking a pickup from a supplier or another third-party site.
When should I use this?
Use a collection when you want to:
- arrange a pickup into the warehouse
- track the transport side of the inbound movement
- keep a clear collection reference and audit trail
If the stock is simply arriving at the warehouse and you do not need ParcelPilot to arrange the pickup, use Registering and receiving an expected delivery instead.
How it works
The collection tracks the pickup.
The linked receipt tracks what actually arrives.
Stock is only added later when the warehouse finishes the linked receipt.
What happens next?
After a collection is created:
- ParcelPilot generates the Collection Reference
- your team can use External Reference for the supplier or booking number they already know
- the warehouse or admin team can book the pickup shipment
- when the stock physically arrives, the warehouse receives it through the linked goods-in workflow
Some older collection records may still open the older receipt-first path, but new collection requests should be understood as a pickup workflow first.
