Repacking Stock into a New SKU

Use this guide when the warehouse needs to convert one stocked SKU into a different stocked SKU.

When should I use this?

Use Inventory Repackings when you need to:

  • unpack, relabel, or repack one item into another item
  • move stock from a source location into a new output SKU
  • record packaging consumables used during that conversion

This workflow is for one source SKU and one output SKU.

Before you start

Check these basics first:

  1. Repacking is enabled on the source item.
  2. The output item is configured correctly.
  3. The source stock is already available in the warehouse.
  4. You know the source and destination locations.

Who can do what?

Warehouse and admin users can create and complete repacking jobs.

Client users can view their own historical repacking records where permitted, but they do not run the warehouse repacking workflow.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Inventory Repackings.
  2. Click Create Repacking.
  3. Choose the Client and Warehouse.
  4. Choose the source item and enter the quantity to convert.
  5. Choose the Source location.
  6. Choose the Destination location for the output stock.
  7. If the workflow uses packaging consumables, choose their source locations too.
  8. Review the preview so you can confirm the output quantity and any consumables being used.
  9. Click Complete.

What happens next?

After completion:

  • the source stock is reduced
  • the output stock is added to the destination location
  • any configured packaging consumables are used up
  • Monthly Operations can later pick up any repacking charges tied to this work

Common questions

Can I repack a SKU into the same SKU?

No. This workflow is for converting one SKU into a different SKU.

Can I complete it in stages?

Not in this workflow. Repacking is completed in one step.

Can I use this for serial repacking?

Not currently. If you need serial-sensitive handling, use a workflow designed for that stock type.

Things to check if something looks wrong

  1. Confirm the correct warehouse and locations were selected.
  2. Check the source item has enough stock available.
  3. Review the preview before clicking Complete.
  4. If the conversion setup is wrong, fix the item configuration before creating more repacking jobs.
